Every school seems to have their special sports. Strathmore High School’s sport seems to be girls basketball. Over the last few years they have had a 1,000-point scorer, and a freshman player who has put up huge numbers.
This week I am joined by the Spartans head coach Richard Miranda, who has seen the program go through it’s ups and downs. We discuss what type of player Miraiah Hernandez was, and how she was able to become the newest member of the 1,000-point club. Then we talk about a freshman standout who already has 709 points named Jazmine Soto. And the ironic story of both players wearing number two.
We also discuss the Spartans run to the D-IV Valley Championship last season, and what they will have to do to make a return trip.
All that and much more on this week’s episode of The Sportspeak Podcast.
