The Sportspeak Podcast Ep. 29: Farmersville baseball head coach Freddie Lopez and pitcher David Contreras

Sometimes all a team needs is one game to get them believing. It also doesn’t hurt if that win comes against a team they had not beaten since 2013. My two guests on this week’s show, Farmersville Aztecs head coach Freddie Lopez and pitcher David Contreras, got that first win last week.

We talk about how big their 8-4 win was over the Woodlake Tigers was and how they got to Robby Stevenson so quickly. How they were able to overcome some early difficulties in the season and bond together as a team.

David and I talk about his five innings, which included 10 strike outs, performance. We also discuss if it is easier to start or enter as relief.

The three of us talk about how difficult the young season has been with two blow out losses and the rain. We will also preview the East Sierra League race, and talk about becoming members of the East Sequoia League next season.

All that and much more on this week’s episode of The Sportspeak Podcast.
