The Sportspeak Podcast Ep. 34: Dan Swagerty honored by CIF

Dan Swagerty has been a constant figure as both a coach and athletic director in the California Interscholastic Federation for the past 39 years. For his service he was honored by the state office as the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award winner. One of two for the central section this year.
A former athlete Swagerty knew the importance of high school sports. However, it took a chance call by a former coach to set him on the path he finds himself on now.
Over the years Swagerty has served as a coach for seven different sports teams. He has worked at schools in four different sections, and sat on a variety of different advisory boards. On top of all that he helps out with the playoffs for volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball.
This week we talk about how important the CIF and how important directors and coaches like himself are to the continuation success to high school sports. As well as share some stories of experiences.
